BIKE SAFETY

Welcome to the Sandymount Dodder Wheelers
cycling safety page.

Staying safe
on the road is our number one priority. Remember to always obey the rules of the road and stop at red lights, understand and follow road signs and markings.

Cycling has become one of the most popular forms of transport in Ireland. It’s a great inexpensive and sustainable form of exercise. However, cyclists are vulnerable road-users and need to be careful to adhere to the rules of the road when they are out and about.

We’ve put together six different safety videos and fifty two tips (courtesy of Aidan Hammond) for you to use when you are out cycling. Each week we will also post one of the tips to the Clubs Whats App Group.

Winter cycling can be great fun and is also a great way of maintaining your overall fitness all year round. However, dark evenings and difficult conditions can be tricky on the road.

Sandymount Dodder Wheelers have created a winter safety booklet that can help you navigate these difficult conditions to ensure you remain safe on our roads.
